RISE – Our New Youth Leadership Programme

RISE youth hub at St Paul's

RISE Youth Hub is here! Together St Paul’s is launching a bold new youth leadership programme – and it starts today.

Our new RISE Youth Hub will support and empower young people aged 11 to 18.

RISE – Youth Power & Potential has been made possible thanks to funding from The National Lottery Community Fund , the largest funder of community activity in the UK.

The four-year programme will create safe, inclusive spaces where young people can:

  • Develop leadership and advocacy skills
  • Shape and influence local decisions
  • Design and lead community campaigns
  • Access mentoring and coaching
  • Take part in creative, environmental, and outdoor learning opportunities
  • Progress into peer leadership and governance roles

The programme responds directly to consultation with over 80 local young people who highlighted the need for trusted adults, safe spaces, and meaningful opportunities to have “real power to change things.”

RISE aims to support 350 young people over four years, building a strong youth leadership pipeline and strengthening community voice across B11 and B12.

Manjit Dehal, our CEO, said:

“RISE is about real power for young people. Not a token voice — genuine influence.

Thanks to funding from The National Lottery Community Fund, we’re creating safe spaces where young people in Balsall Heath can build confidence, develop leadership skills and shape the future of their community.

When we invest in young people, we invest in stronger communities.”
