Landmark Trust: 50 for Free

We are delighted to share that, with the support of Landmark Trust, we have been able to provide the family of one of our wonderful volunteers with a free weekend away.

From castles to cottages and forts to follies, Landmark Trust are a charity that rescues extraordinary historic buildings and gives them new life as special places to stay. Their “50 for Free” initiative provides free stays at their beautiful properties for charities and non-profit organisations.

This amazing initiative has offered precious moments of respite to some truly deserving individuals – including one of our amazing volunteers who took her family on a free holiday earlier this month. This is what she had to say about the experience:

“Ludlow was a lovely place to visit, with beautiful views all around. We explored the local area, including Bromfield, and enjoyed walks to the Corn Mill as well as visits to the markets in the town centre. We were able to have some much-needed time away from the noisy city of Birmingham and spend quality time together as a family. My husband and I were especially happy to spend two whole days with our grandson, which we rarely get to do – that was such a bonus! Due to not having any internet access or a TV, we played games to pass the time, like Hangman, Scrabble, and Charades. This turned out to be a great bonding opportunity for us, and we had many laughs along the way. I have a busy schedule as a wife, mother of five, grandmother of four, and carer for my elderly mother, so this break was perfect for allowing me to switch off and prioritise some ‘me time’.”
