On Saturday 9th April, we as a school where invited to watch Wasps vs Worcester in an exclusive box. The pupils had an amazing time and were given so many wonderful gifts that they will not forget in a hurry!

School Trip to the Rugby - Wasps vs Worcester

The staff at The Ricoh Arena was fantastic, the were so supportive of our pupils’ needs and helped us with anything that we needed. Jordan Young gave us a tour of their Sensory Room. The boys loved the game and the opportunity to watch a live rugby game in an exclusive area that made them feel safe. One of our boys now wants to join his local rugby club to be able to watch. This is the beauty of sport, to be able to so inclusive and supportive.

We were given the opportunity to do this through the Next Generation Awards (NGA) where we put forward an idea for a sensory area in Birmingham City Centre, we came second in the whole West Midlands schools. We want to say a massive ‘thank you’ for those who helped us with the NGA as well as Wasps for their support as they have come into the school to talk about their sensory area and their desire to help us further with this proposal.
